New Sludge Monster Offers Efficient Solution To Eliminate Pump and Downstream Equipment Blockages

JWC International is proud to introduce the new Sludge Monster® grinder – built to protect sludge pumps, heat exchangers, centrifuges and other dewatering equipment from blockages.

The in-line Sludge Monster uses the same low speed, high-torque design as the bigger Muffin Monster®, but in a compact and economical package. Over twenty thousand Muffin Monsters are installed worldwide protecting pumps and downstream equipment.

The Sludge Monster is energy efficient – using only a 1.5kW motor to generate all the torque needed to shred rag balls and trash into small particles. In addition the low-speed design ensures a lower life-cycle cost than high-speed macerators.

“We were asked to create a product specifically for sludge applications in a compact design but without removing the toughness our customers expect from a JWC grinder,” explained Rob Sabol, Director of R&D.

Sludge Monster includes these industry leading features: improved solids reduction using 11 or 13 tooth alloy steel cutters; industry leading hardness of Rockwell 60-65; top and bottom shaft bearing and seal cartridges to prevent shaft deflection; automatic reversals; plus there is no messy clean-out trap to maintain – everything goes through the grinder.

The Sludge Monster has 100mm NP 16 pattern, drilled flanges and has a capacity of up to 100 m3/hr.
